CHEERS TO THE CLASS OF '26

On May 23, 6,657 graduates, spanning in age from 18 to 78 and hailing from 44 states and territories and 44 countries officially became alumni of the University of Delaware.

UD President Laura Carlson reminded graduates what it means to be a Blue Hen.

A Medical School for Delaware

In order to grow the number of physicians trained in the region, the University of Delaware is teaming up with Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) to establish and operate the medical school with academic and clinical partners from across Delaware.

After helping locate a missing WWII aircraft, UD alumni will travel to Arlington to honor the airman finally being laid to rest.

On May 29, Blue Hens attended the internment of 2nd Lt. Jason K. Goldwater, a navigator aboard a B-52 bomber that crashed during World War II. The aircraft was located in 2017 during a Project Recover mission.

Led by co-founder and UD Professor Mark Moline, the program has taken students to Micronesia and Palau to search for Americans still missing in action from World War II.

UD to launch The Neil Book School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The opening of the Book School will mark the start of a new era for innovation and entrepreneurship at UD. The mission: to empower students, faculty and researchers from all disciplines to become creative problem-solvers and ethical leaders.

The Book School will begin operations on July 1, 2026.
